CONFIDENTIALITY CLAUSE

All the materials and information sent by WORDSURF to the Translator/Editor/Proofreader, as well as any translations thereof performed by the Translator/Editor/Proofreader shall be considered to be the property of WORDSURF and its customers and are subject to confidential treatment. The Translator/Editor/Proofreader undertakes to maintain the confidentiality of the materials and information sent by WORDSURF. For this purpose, the Translator/Editor/Proofreader shall not be entitled, without the written consent of WORDSURF:

  • to make use any information and/or documents acquired or to which it has access throughout the execution of WORDSURF’s orders or to disclose such information to third parties for purposes other than that of fulfilling their obligations provided in the relevant POs;
  • to make public or disclose the name of WORDSURF’s customers to a third party.

The Translator/Editor/Proofreader shall be exonerated from liability regarding the disclosure of confidential information in the following cases:

  • the information was disclosed after a written consent for such disclosure was received from WORDSURF;
  • the Translator/Editor/Proofreader was legally compelled by the competent bodies to disclose such information;
  • the information was made public before such disclosure.
